Judges Selected For The 32nd Annual Spring Fun Show Bill Cantrell, Ray Gilmer, and Bobby Richards were selected to make up the judging panel for the 32nd Annual Spring Fun Show slated for May 23-25 in Calsonic Arena on the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebrations grounds in Shelbyville, according to Virgil Johnson, chairman of the Celebration's Board of Directors. "We are very excited over our 2002 judging panel as each of the three men is competent and well respected within the horse show industry," said Johnson. Phenix City, Alabama's Bill Cantrell has a more than 45-year history in the walking horse industry. He was inducted into the Celebration Hall of Fame in 1995 and was voted Trainer of the Year in 1994 by the Walking Horse Trainers' Association. Fun Show judge Ray Gilmer hails from Toone, Tennessee. Ray is no novice when it comes to judging at the Spring Fun Show or the Celebration, having judged the Fun Show in 1980 and 1988 and the Celebration 1991. In a beautiful performance at the 2000 Celebration, Ray rode Cash to Keeps to the title of World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse. Ray will be inducted in the prestigious Celebration Hall of Fame on May 22, the night preceding the Fun Show. Rounding out the judges' panel for the 2002 Fun Show is Bobby Richards. Bobby holds 30 plus titles in both world championships and reserve world championships at the Celebration and the National Futurity. He offers his knowledge and unique ability in training and preparing horses to people across the United States and Canada by conducting halter and gait training clinics. The Fun Show, one of the top shows in the nation, will offer 47 classes. Riders will compete for $37,750 in prizes money and awards. The Fun Show is always a stepping-stone to greater honors later in the year at the annual Celebration where World Grand Champions are crowned.
