Tipton County 4-H 2nd Annual Horse Show Is May 11th The Tipton County 4-H Club will be hosting its second annual horse show. The show will be May 11th at 10 a.m. at the Covington, TN show arena. The show is open to all 4-H'ers. There will be classes for all ages, including Senior, Junior, Grades 4-6, and Buckaroo. Classes will be in speed, pleasure, showmanship, halter, Western pleasure, Western horsemanship, pony, saddle, English, and trail. High point awards will be presented in the junior and senior performance and speed classes. Trophies and ribbons will be presented for every class. "Our ultimate goal," says coordinator Linda Detlefson, "is to teach children to do things the right way." "We want to have a really classy show. We expect them to be in the arena to receive awards, they can't just be off somewhere and have thier name called." Included in the show will be a singer and drill team. Last year there were over 150 enteries. Entries are $1, and there is a $10 per family maximum price for entries. The show will have a sanctioned 4-H judge who will be announced at the show.
