Big Sandy Trail Ride Under New Ownership The Big Sandy Trail Ride is now owned and operated by Art and Beverly Howell of the National Trail Ride Association of Gadsden, Alabama. They are moving their headquarters to Big Sandy, Tennessee this month. They have been doing trail rides for over sixteen years and are very family oriented. Rides are already scheduled for June 29 through July 3rd, July 4 through 7, October 12 and are planning a possible Labor Day event. Riders are welcome any or all days during these dates. There is not membership fee for Big Sandy or the National Trial Ride Association and children 10 and under ride free (accompanied by a riding adult). At each trail ride a free horse is awarded to a person in need. Rides are also offered in 6 or more states. The Big Sandy facility is located near Kentucky Lake and has several acres of accessible prime timber land, 200+ campsites, 200 tie and box stalls and a dining hall. They also offer Cowboy Church, live music and dancing and other forms of entertainment. At each ride they have a free seminar and horse breaking conducted by Rick Wheat. The Howells' believe the National Trail Ride Association means a band of friends with emphasis on the family life. They would like for you to come to Big Sandy this summer and experience the new atmosphere and lower rates...better yet call them or visit their websites, 731-593-5139 or 256-442-0230, www.bigsandytrailride.com or www.nationaltrailride.com.
