Oakfield Saddle Club Monthly Open Show July 20 Oakfield Saddle Club held its monthly open show at the Pugh Bourne Equestrian Center in Oakfield, Tenn. on Saturday, June 15. The saddle horse classes are now ribbon classes and include horses and mules. Other classes have money payback awards. The next show is scheduled for July 20 at 7:30 p.m. For more information or to volunteer to help, call George Lynn Barnes at 731-422-5150, Lacy Bond at 731-668-3469 or 731-424-3972. Next show dates will be August 17 and September 21. Sponsors for the horse show are Willow Oaks Flower Farm of Brownsville and Darty Trailer Sales of Milan. There will be a total of 24 classes for the Open Horse Show, which will include Halter, Lead In Pony, Open Gaited (Flatshod), Pony Class (56" and under), Kiddie Pole Bending, Youth Pole Bending, Open Pole Bending, Country Pleasure (Flatshod), Open Western Pleasure, Youth Saddle Pleasure, Kiddie Flag Race, Youth Flag Race, Open Flag Race, Open Saddle Pleasure (Flatshod), Open Style Rack (Padded), Open Western Pleasure, Training Barrels, Kiddie Barrels, Youth Barrels, Ladies Barrels, Kiddie Speed, Youth Speed, Open Speed Race and 3-D Barrels. Kiddie classes are for those 12 years and under. Any size horse may be used. Youth classes will include those 16 years of age and under. Negative coggins papers are required for entrants. A minimum of 10 riders will be required for classes with added money, with five places awarded in ribbon classes. Concession stands are available.
