Poetry In Motion: the first Letters I've written to my horses Our readers have a great love for horses. One reader has been writing poetry and short stories about experiences with horses, and sent us a sample. “This is the first of few Letters I've written to my horses. I find that when I have down time it is the smell and feel of the horse that takes me away and relaxes me.” We imagine many of our readers feel the same way. Here’s the poem from C. Gross: In a quiet time Deep in my mindI think I can fly High in the sky It is on your back I feel most relaxedAnd wish to stayAll of my days When I inhaleIt is your smell That makes me feel Alive and real I am running Humanistic and soundAnd all of a suddenThree beats echo around It’s then I realize I am no longer my size But large and roundWith four legs on the ground One, two, three! One, two, three!I count the beat, Then surge forward as it repeats. One, two, three! One, two, three!unning I go, With power and grace only we know. One, two, three! One, two, three! I stop suddenly; As I am no longer meI am you. You are me.We are one, Eternally.
