Long C Trails St. Jude Benefit Trail Ride
For Tressa, St. Jude is a personal cause. She recently lost her eleven-year-old niece to cancer. Ironically, Tressa had been fund-raising for St. Jude long before her niece’s battle began.
This year’s ride will be a morning five-mile trail ride in the lovely rolling hills of Long C’s middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky trails. Lunch, included in the price of participation, will be provided afterward in the camp’s pavilion.
Admission is a minimum $35 donation to St. Jude, with all participants receiving a “Saddle Up for St. Jude” T-shirt and a chance at a door prize. A silent auction will also raise money for St. Jude.
After lunch, riders can compete over the trail obstacle course in the children’s or adult’s divisions. Tressa says, “The arena competition will allow participants and spectators to meet new people easier than if they were on the trail all day.” Participation in the arena trail competition is optional and requires an additional $10 donation to St. Jude. There will be a cap of 25 competitors in the obstacle class.
Long C Trails has several camper hookups with electric and water hookups. A couple of cabins with full bathrooms are also available. Unlimited primitive camping is available, with a bathhouse. There is even a small hotel at the campsite. Campers can enjoy fishing and swimming are available, as well as a nature hikes. Limited inside and outside stalls are available in the main barn with reservations. Picket line camping with your horse is also allowed.
The newest amenity at Long C Trails is a two bedroom house with private barn and pasture. The property has trails which lead to the common trails at Long C.
