Open House and Book Signing at Saddles N’ Such

By Nancy Brannon

If you haven’t already read Melanie Smith Taylor’s book, Riding With Life: Lessons From the Horse,

Saturday, December 12, 2015 was a good time to get started. Melanie was at Saddles N’ Such in Germantown, TN autographing her books, with books also available for purchase.

Visitors to the store were treated to chicken tenders, fruit mix, beverages, and delicious cookies from Miss Muffin, a bakery just around the corner from Saddles N’ Such. Owner Fara Sudlow said about 70 people came to the store’s Holiday Open House that day and many went home with door prizes, such as socks, notebooks, pens, and gift certificates. Robin Young won the Grand Prize, a Schockemöhle back pack.

In addition to holiday shoppers, friends of Melanie came by to visit with her as well. One of those long-time friends was Tonie Griggs, who used to work with Melanie’s mother at the Hugh Frank Smith farm on Poplar Pike in Germantown, TN.
