Brownland Farm Fall Horse Shows
Brownland Farm, Franklin, Tenn., completed its 2019 horse show season with the Autumn Country show, October 16-20, and the Autumn Classic, October 23-27. There were plenty of cornstalks and pumpkins to give the show grounds fall ambience. And on Friday afternoon (October 25) before the exhibitors party, it was time for Cornerstone Equestrian’s annual Costume Parade.
Autumn Country featured the $25,000 Brownland Grand Prix, with David Jennings taking the win and second place on Skat 15 and Aventador, respectively. Madeline Reich and Harakiri Z were third, and Shannon Clifford garnered fourth (Riesling De Milvrault) and fifth (R.K. Vincent Santa Monica).
Jennings also won the $5,000 1.30m Stake on STS Cacharell and the $7,500 1.35m Welcome Stake aboard Iliano Van D’Abelendreef.
The last opportunity to qualify for the $25,000 Hunter Derby final was on October 18. Erin Clayton and Tenacious took the top prize in the $5,000 Brownland Farm Hunter Derby over 24 entries at the Autumn Country show.
In the WASH/NAL Children’s Hunter Classic, Natalie Sharp and Rio-Fined were the winners with Isabel Dlabach and Ilario in reserve. Sharp and Rio-Fined were also Champions in the Children’s Hunter 15-17 division, with Isabel Dlabach and Ilario in reserve.
In the WASH/NAL Adult Hunter Classic, Addison Bihm and Forever took the top prize, with Romney Velazquez and A Timely Affair in reserve. Bihm and Forever also were Champions in the Adult Amateur 18-35 division.
Kakki Wright and Comaraderie were Champions in the Adult Amateur 36 & Over division.
The Brownland Autumn Classic also featured the $25,000 Grand Prix on Saturday, plus the $25,000 Hunter Derby Finals on Friday morning.
Twenty-one entries qualified for the Hunter Derby Finals, but it was Roger Turner on Denise Short’s Aviator who “flew” over the fences to clinch the win and $7,500 prize money. Kelly Mullen wasn’t too shabby either, taking second on Golden, third on Cheryl Rubenstein’s Capisce, and fourth on Allison Ventura’s Helen. Winners of the previous Derby, Erin Clayton and Tenacious finished fifth in the finals.
Twelve entries queued up for the final $25,000 Brownland Grand Prix of the show season. This time it was Genevieve Munson in the winner’s circle with Mark Holden’s Zonderling. David Jennings and Iliano van D’Abelenedreef were reserve, but the pair won the $7,500 1.35m Welcome Stake.
Kakki Wright and Comaraderie were, again, Adult Amateur Champions, this time in a combined division. And the pair were also second in the WASH/NAL Adult Hunter Classic.
Kate Barton and Alleghany won the Large Pony/Lg. Green Pony Classic.
Margaret Weaver and her Vuitton won the JR/AO Hunter Classic. Holly Labry and Riverside were reserve.
McKenzie Welch and Empire of Dreams were winners of the Children’s Pony Hunter Classic.
