Photos by Paul Nolte

The Benton County Fair was back this year after a break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair was held at the Benton County Fair Grounds in Ashland, Mississippi on September 9-11, 2021. The Fair hosted a two-day Red, White, and Bulls horse show and rodeo, September 10-11. The event began with a horse show on Friday night and bull riding on Saturday, a production of BuckWild Bucking Stock. Mr. Lucas Wade Mooningham was the big winner with two  qualifying rides and scores of 81.5 and 88.5. The junior bull riders had two qualifying rides, with Brayden Smith having the high score of 76, and Landon McDonald with 65 points.

Other events at the Fair included the Fairest of the Fair on Thursday, a poultry show, pony pull, and calf scramble on Saturday.
