Deadline for Nov. issue is Oct. 23
News From Tennessee NBHA 07 by Rita Smith Well, with 3 shows under our belts, I think we're doing great! We now have 57 members and a show almost every month. Our next show will be at Chester County Equine Saddle Club in Henderson, Tenn. on April 21st. We will be the host district, but we will be co-sanctioning with TN 05. The trainers will start at 12:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 2:00 p.m. If you are planning on riding in the trainers, be there early as there will be twice as many of us and we have to start the show on time as Chester County Equine's first point show will start at 6:00 p.m. that night. Then we will go to Chesterfield Saddle Club on May 19. That show will start at 12:00 noon, with the trainers beginning at 10:00 a.m. We are hoping to draw some of the THSRA contestants, as they are having a rodeo in Lexington that night. Chesterfield will also be having a jackpot on the Friday night before our show and invites anyone who would like to come and camp out to do so. In June we will go to Milledgeville on June 9th with that show starting trainers at 12:00 p.m. and invites us all to stay and run in the show. The 4-H club of Decaturville will be hosting a show at the Parsons Fairgrounds on June 23rd, although not set yet, we will probably co-sanction with another district. We also have our winter shows set up at Triple P. The dates are October 13th, November 10th, and December 8. For 2002 they will be on January 5, February 2, and March 16. The 2002 dates are tentative at this time as they want to make sure they don't conflict with any ropings, as he is going to have a roping following our shows. TN 07 wants to take this opportunity to say thank you to Wayne Powers and his family for all their hosting our first 3 shows. We all know it takes a lot of work to get everything ready and it was sure nice to have somewhere to go inside this winter, and we are looking forward to coming back this coming winter. Thanks again! At our show on February 11, we had buckles donated by Gene and Toby Owens of Owens Construction Company. They were given to each division winner in the Open class. Becky Wood was the 1-D winner, Josh King 2-D and Bobby Montgomery 3-D at the February show. This was also Bobby's first NBHA show, what a way to start! On March 4th, we had buckles donated by Tammy Ownes of Fame Sales Associates, Billy Griswell of Griswell's city Lumber Company, and Steve Sweats Body Shop all of Selmer, Tenn. The winners of these were Becky Wood 1-D, Dustin Gilbert 2-D, and one of our newest members, Sue Prince in the 3-D.
