NCHA Summer Spectacular July 10-29 In Fort Worth The National Cutting Horse Association will host its 31st Annual Summer Cutting Spectacular at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum July 10 n 29 with daily go-round competitions beginning at 8 a.m. The event will feature the world's top cutting horses and riders competing for a purse of more than $1.3 million. This year's competition will kick off with the NCHA/Classic Challenge that is limited to 5 and 6-year-old cutting horses followed by the NCHA Derby open only to 4- year-old equine competitors. The climax of the Derby will be on the last weekend July 28 - 29 when the Open and Non-Pro Finals are held. Tickets for the finals performances are only $5 for general admission and $8 for reserved seating. In addition to the NCHA / Classic Challenge and the NCHA Derby, the Sean Ryon / NCHA East-West Shootout and the Sooner Trailer / NCHA Weekend work off will be held in conjunction with this grand event. On Tuesday, July 17, the Sean Ryon / NCHA East-West Shootout will feature 11 champions from each division of the Chevy Trucks / NCHA National Championships. The 22 competitors will go head-to-head to determine the winner of the custom Sean Ryon saddles. The Sooner Trailer/NCHA Weekend work off invites the winners of the Non-Pro divisions from the 25 area competitions to compete for the grand prize of a Sooner Trailer on July, 28th. Other competitions that will be held in conjunction with the NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular include more than 150 National Youth Cutting Horse Association competitors vying for more than $15,000 in scholarships July 13 - 14. Representatives from many of NCHA's corporate sponsors will be participating in our annual Sponsor's Cutting on July 27. Today, the Fort Worth based NCHA represents more than 13,000 members in 22 countries and oversees more than 1,400 NCHA-approved shows with more than $22 million in total prize money awarded annually.
