Halloween Circuit Palomino Show "Trick Or Treat" For Riders by Kevin DeBusk Palomino riders hope to receive a real treat when attending the Halloween Classic, in Holly Springs, Mississippi. The show is scheduled for October 26-28. "We've been averaging 75-85 entries for this show," organizer Carmen O'Donnell said. "For Palomino shows that's pretty good. That's like an A rating. Our lowest was 70 several years back. "This year we already have between 80 and 90 stalls rented and seventy to seventy-five entries. That's not bad when you consider we're six weeks out." Because of the timing of the show and multiple judges this show brings out the best horses and riders."We draw from fifteen states and will have several World Champions here," Carmen reported. "The better part of the top four or five in the nation will attend. "We use two judge per day. That's allows riders to compete under six judges in three days. That's the equivalence of a six day show in some places." She continued saying this late in the year six sets of point in a weekend was very valuable. Additionally, this show provides for those who don't have a registered Palomino. "We have the Rainbow Futurity during this show," she said. "This futurity is for any horse that has one Palomino parent. "We encourage everyone to come watch and visit with our riders," she remarked. "Admission is free."
