McPeakes Steer Wrestling August 17TH-18TH PCA Rodeo In Lexington, Tenn. August 16TH-17TH The weekend of August 16-18 will be a busy rodeo benefit weekend in the town of Lexington, Tenn.. A PCA sanctioned rodeo will take place on August 16 and 17, and the 20th Annual McPeake Steer Wrestling will take place on August 17 and 18. The PCA Rodeo will take place at the Guy B. Amos Park to benefit the Henderson Co. Fire Department. The rodeo will start at 8p.m. both nights . A children's rodeo will take place prior to the start of the rodeo on Saturday only, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday the return of the Annual McPeake Steer Wrestling will be held to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For nineteen years the home of Tim and Diane McPeake has been the spot for the largest steer wrestling east of the Mississippi River. It draws top steer wrestlers from all over the country. Last year two additional events were added to the weekend. Calf roping and breakaway roping were a huge success. Barrel racing will also occur in conjunction with the event. Trophy buckles will be awarded to average winners in the steer wrestling, barrels, calf roping and breakaway roping. This family oriented weekend offers many activities for competitors and audiences to enjoy.
