Tate County 4-H Young Riders The Young Riders 4-H Club in Tate County, Mississippi kicked off the new 2002-2003 year on August 23, 2002 at Hernando Point for the 2nd Annual Young Riders Cookout. Despite the rainy weather, nearly 50 parents, 4-H'ers, and guest came for the annual cookout. We are also glad to welcome three new members to our club: Camille Bishop, Charity Bishop, and DJ Gill. After a delicious meal of hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by Mr. Charles Welch, the meeting was brought to order by Young Rider's leader, Debra Welch. Mrs. Welch discussed the Coats for Kids, Thanksgiving Can Drive, and Boxes for Nursing Home community projects that the club would be participating in. Thanks to all parents who brought food and other supplies for the cookout! On September 19, 2002, the Young Riders held the annual officer election and initiation ceremony. New officers for the 2002-2003 year are: Clint Ladner and John David Stricklen (President), Chris Neal (Vice President), Kourtney Ford (Secretary), Breanna Ladner (Treasurer), Jessica Daniel (Reporter), Crystal Smith (Historian), Matthew Daniel (Recreational Leader), and Charity and Camille Bishop (Song/Flag Leaders).
