Music Country Grand Prix


Colleen Acosta and Diamond won the 2015 Music Country Grand Prix at Brownland Farm in Franklin, TN on Saturday, May 30, 2015. The class featured 26 horse-rider teams competing for the $40,000 purse. Acosta took home $12,000 for her efforts! Acosta is both rider and trainer for Diamond, who is owned by Anastasia Stewart.

Not only does the Music Country Grand Prix feature top caliber riders and horses from throughout the nation. It is also a benefit for Saddle Up! – the oldest and largest program serving special needs children through the power of the horse.
Since incorporating in 1991, Saddle Up! has served more than 1,300 children, provided over 50,000 hours of services, and cared for more than 130 noble horses who served its programs. Saddle Up! offers recreational therapeutic riding, physical and occupational therapy, the Saddle Up! Equestrian Club, and equine assisted learning programs. The 500+ volunteer corps gave 17,000 hours in 2014. Programs operate year-round at the Saddle Up! farm in Franklin, TN. Prior to the event, Co-Chairs Sarah Ingram and Jennifer Pennington presented the 2015 Music Country Honoree award to Linda Seay, who accepted on behalf of the late David Q. Wright. Wright was a well-known equestrian who served in many areas of the horse world, including as a competitor, teacher, judge and serving on several committees. As a competitor, he won 46 Grand Prix titles and over $1,000,000 including the 2006 Music Country Grand Prix with his horse, Step Right Up.
